So we have decided to clear some of the common doubts related to the Bsc MLT Course in Kerala.

  1. Is a BSc MLT a good course?

The answer is Yes, on the basis of its demand and opportunities in a medical career, and those who love to work with people and laboratories. This course is Best for their Career.

What is a BSc MLT?

The Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology is a three-year undergraduate degree program. It’s a highly technical degree that requires you to have a strong science background, as well as biology, chemistry, and math. You’ll also need to complete clinical hours at a hospital or lab. Medical laboratory technologists are involved in all phases of laboratory testing, including specimen processing, data entry, quality control, and analysis. They’re often called on to maintain laboratory equipment and to keep up with new developments in their field.

A Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (BSc MLT) course in Kerala is a degree program that prepares students for employment in the medical laboratory profession. It provides the knowledge and skills necessary to work in clinical, anatomic, or chemical laboratories. Coursework includes laboratory safety, anatomy, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, hematology, and clinical chemistry.

Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) are responsible for testing bodily fluids and tissues to help diagnose and treat diseases. In the lab, they may be expected to collect samples, prepare and analyze specimens, maintain equipment, and prepare reports. The BSc MLT will prepare students for employment in this field.

  1. Does BSC MLT Course have good respect and salary?

A BSc degree holder will not make you rich or poor. The respect is the same as a doctor who serves their patients well but even though doctors earn more respect in terms of their qualifications and respect.

Frankly speaking, It’s just average!

MLT course provides you with a job with an average salary (25K to 30k) and it’s a job of technician/lab assistant type so I don’t think it’s a respectful job.

Nevertheless in India, getting a government job is very respectful work, doesn’t matter what actually he/she is doing, as people mindset.

I personally think that our passion and interest in work are more important.

  1. BSc MLT course scope in India?

BSc MLT is indeed a good course. A medical lab technician is an essential asset in a hospital’s arsenal and is crucial for a doctor, to ensure the proper treatment. Every single test such as blood sampling, urine culturing, and cell counting, to name a few, is done by these technicians.

Medical Laboratory technicians are also a good career option as well. They are in high demand in hospitals, Forensic laboratories, the military as well universities. Starting packages are usually between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000. As you gain experience, the pay increases. You shall also be able to work as a freelancer.

  1. Does BSC MLT require NEET?

The answer is No, NEET is not necessary to join for Bsc MLT course as it is an undergraduate course of three years with six semesters.

Any candidates who have secured a minimum passing mark during their SSLC and Plus two examinations in the science stream including physics, Chemistry, and Microbiology as compulsory subjects become eligible for this course

The colleges and universities that offer BSc MLT courses do admissions to the candidates based on the entrance exam conducted by the college or institute when it comes to private colleges they provide direct admissions based on the interest and background marks in the science stream. So there is no need for NEET.

  1.  Can a BSC MLT student write NEET Exam? Or are they eligible?

The answer is Yes!, One is eligible to give for the NEET entrance exam if you have studied physics, chemistry, and biology as main subjects. You can also give the exam when you are pursuing your BSc course

The only difference that makes is you need to fill in different codes while filling out your application form.

Any students of all categories should compulsorily have 40-50% marks in plus two to become eligible for NEET.

NEET only requires the marks in your plus two exams. it does not matter if you fail in 1st or 2nd year in BSc. so you only need your plus to certificate attached the form for NEET. if you can pass or qualify for your NEET exam then you don’t need to complete your BSc. But you should have your valid plus two marks and need to be eligible for NEET.
